George Cao
Co-Founder & CEO
Before co-founding Dragon Trail, George worked in Silicon Valley for travel technology companies including WorldRES (online hotel distribution), Talus Solutions (hotel/airline/gaming revenue management) and Search Party (Par Capital funded hotel meta-search start-up).
Previously, George led the research and development of RevPAR Maximizer at Choice Hotels International based in Phoenix, Arizona. After early training in the hotel industry with Holiday Inn and Hyatt in China, George went on to study at Cornell Hotel School and earned a Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
Hui Li
COO
Hui leads service delivery and shared services across three offices in China. Prior to joining Dragon Trail, Hui was General Manager of E-commerce at China International Travel Service (CITS), one of China’s leading travel agencies. She also worked in product development and operations at China Youth Travel Service (CYTS), and its subsidiaries CYTS Online & Aoyou.com (JV between Cendant & CYTS).
Hui holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Lanzhou University and a diploma in knowledge management from Peking University.
Paris Wang
CTO & GM Xi’an
Paris manages R&D at Dragon Trail International. He leads a team of software engineers and product managers to build and maintain our SAAS platforms and deliver web & mobile development projects for clients. He is also responsible for the overall operations at our Xi’an office.
Prior to joining Dragon Trail, Paris worked as a senior software engineer for China’s top tech companies, including WeChat’s parent company Tencent in Shenzhen and leading smartphone maker Xiaomi in Beijing. Paris holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in computer science from Northwestern University in Xi’an.
Qing Chen
GM Shanghai
Qing manages Dragon Trail’s Shanghai office and oversees the company’s travel trade relationships in China. He was the first general manager for HRS in China. He also helped set up China operations for HanseMerkur, Germany’s second-oldest health insurance provider, and for Hotelzon, Finland’s leading online travel agency. As VP of operations at Blackstone-acquired 4Oceans, Qing is a recognized pioneer in online travel distribution in China.
Qing holds a bachelor’s degree in German Literature from Tianjin Foreign Studies University and a master’s degree in German Literature from Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich.
Elena Chen
VP Events & B2B Marketing
Elena leads travel trade marketing at Dragon Trail and manages service delivery in events and representation services. For over eight years, she managed the Project Development Department at Shanghai International Conference Management Organization. Prior to that, she worked as an interpreter at China National Tourism Office in Madrid after finishing graduate school in Spain.
Elena holds a bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Philology from Shanghai Foreign Studies University, a MA in Cultural Management from Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset, and a MA in Corporate Communications from Complutense University of Madrid.
Shawn Li
VP Growth
Shawn leads an international team to drive revenue growth for Dragon Trail. He spearheaded our inbound marketing business for Chinese DMOs and led the initial launch of The Next Travel Market.
Shawn joined us from Northstar’s Travel Weekly China, where he was the Director of Business Development. He was instrumental in the successful launch of the Cruise World conference series in China. Previously, he was Travel Industry Director at LifeStyle magazine, and worked with many celebrities in fashion and film. Shawn holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Paisley in Scotland.
Michael Wang
VP Content
Michael oversees content production at Dragon Trail and is Editor-in-Chief for Travel Marketing Watch, Dragon Trail’s online-only travel trade publication.
Michael joined Dragon Trail from Lonely Planet China where he was Editor-in-Chief. He also worked as Editor-in-Chief for Travel Weekly China, National Geographic China, and Reader’s Digest China. He started his media career as a reporter and copy editor for Shanghai Daily, the first English-language daily newspaper on the Chinese mainland. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Beijing University of Post & Telecommunications.
