The official Chinese public holiday calendar for 2020 has been published, revealing a further extension to the May 1 holiday, as well as an eight-day Golden Week, giving Chinese workers more time off to travel in the new year.

The holiday calendar for 2020 is:

New Year’s Day: One day off, on Wednesday, January 1

Chinese New Year: Seven days off, from Friday, January 24 to Thursday, January 30. Working days on Sunday, January 19 and Saturday, February 1.

Qingming: Three days off, from Saturday, April 4 to Monday, April 6.

Labor Day: Five days off, from Friday, May 1 to Tuesday, May 5. Working days on Sunday, April 26 and Saturday, May 9.

Dragon Boat Festival: Three days off, from Thursday, June 25 to Saturday, June 27. Working day on Sunday, June 28.

Golden Week (National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival): Eight days off, from Thursday, October 1 to Thursday, October 8. Working days on Sunday, September 27 and Saturday, October 10.
